Halloween Is Not Canceled, Not Even at the Doctor's Office or in Hospitals - Thanks To These Fun Character Face Shields

Face shields relieve anxiety of kids visiting medical professionals

Shield Pals
Shield Pals, a Maryland-based personal protective equipment (PPE) retailer, creates unique reusable face shields for adults, children, and medical professionals, to help relieve the anxiety of kids visiting medical professionals during these unusual times.

“Impersonal protective gear is hiding the kindness on medical professionals' faces”, says Tracy McCormick, Co-founder of Shield Pals. “So the idea was born to print fun characters on our reusable face shields to make children more comfortable and give them a reason to smile and laugh in stressful situations.”

The face shields, called Shield Pals, are for adults and kids alike.

Does your child like super heroes? Is your child an animal lover? Would a ninja or knight outfit make your child feel stronger when visiting their doctor? Or how would your child feel about being treated by Dr. Spaghetti & Meatballs?
Shield Pals face shields range from animals to crowns, robots, super heroes, pirates, unicorns, and more.

Halloween Shield Pals

For Halloween, Shield Pals launched a new line of face shields including:

  • Witches hat
  • Frankenstein and other monsters
  • Viking helmet
  • Trick-or-Treat
  • Jack-o-Lantern
  • Zombies
  • Devils
  • Samurai, Sphinx, Pharaoh
  • And more

Whether you'll go Trick or Treating this year (see CDC Halloween Guidelines), want your child to wear a face shield at school or elsewhere in public, have a child in the hospital during Halloween or any other time, Shield Pals are designed to bring a smile on your child's and other's faces.

Halloween Shield Pals

All shields are one size for adults and children. The halos come in an adult and a youth size that fits most children aged 3-9. Some smaller children are more comfortable with the standard or pal dental shields because they are not as long on the torso.

The face shields are made up of two elements. The Halo headband and a clear plastic Shield.

The materials used in the shields meet all the regulations for compliance. They help to protect the face, mouth, nose and eyes by creating a barrier between the worker and the infectious material. These units cover the forehead, extend below the chin and wrap around the sides of the face as required by the CDC.

Face shields can prevent droplets from coming into contact with the nose, mouth, and eyes, they keep you from touching your face, they make it easier to breathe, they don’t fog up glasses, and they do not get as hot as face masks. However, for maximum safety, it is recommended to wear the face shields with face covers and masks, not as a replacement. Face Covers and Shield Drapes are also available for purchase.

Reuse & Cleaning

The shields and halo units are intended to be cleaned or disinfected and reused.
