Amplify Austin Day Celebrates the Power of Giving Across our Community

Bring Your Family Together to Support 700 Local Nonprofits

Amplify Austin Day
Amplify Austin Day (March 4-5) is a Central Texas tradition. Since 2013, I Live Here I Give Here has been organizing this annual giving event. Amplify Austin Day has raised over $120 million for hundreds of local nonprofits across our 7-county region thanks to the power of collective giving.

Give back to the Austin community

Through the platform AmplifyATX.org, people can discover new local nonprofits to support. With over 700 participating nonpofits, we know it’s not always easy to decide where to give. Luckily, AmplifyATX.org makes finding organizations simple! Each nonprofit is organized by a “cause category.” You can search different causes from animal care and the environment to education and children. Once you select the causes that mean most to your family, you’ll be given a list of matching nonprofits.

Volunteering opportunities in and around Austin for your family

After Amplify Austin Day, you can even use AmplifyATX.org to find volunteering opportunities for your family. Giving back to the community can be year round too!

Friends of the Children AustinFriends of the Children Austin’s mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty. They are a prevention and early‑intervention program that supports children facing significant challenges, helping them build the skills, confidence, and goals needed to thrive. They identify pre‑K and kindergarten children experiencing the greatest barriers and pair them with a full‑time, bilingual, professional mentor — a “Friend” — who stays with them and their families for 12+ years, through high school graduation.

How It Works: Each Friend spends at least four hours a week one‑on‑one with each of their eight youth — in the classroom supporting academics and social‑emotional growth, at home, and out in the community where new experiences spark learning and engagement.

Donate to Friends of the Children Austin directly or donate through Life Is Better With Friends, which is giving $5 from every My Friends and I book sold now through March 5 to Friends of the Children Austin.

About My Friends and I

My Friends and I friendship book
My Friends and I is an interactive memory book that turns everyday friendships into lasting memories — and lets kids literally write a book together! Every friend becomes a co‑author, filling their page with fun facts, doodles, dreams, and all the quirky things that make them… them. Same book, a different story on every page.

This adorable friendship journal is designed to be passed from friend to friend who each answer fun questions like:

✨ What’s your favorite food?
🎶 What songs do you love?
📚 What books do you read?
🎨 What do you want to be when you grow up?

With a drawing or photo, they can make their pages uniquely theirs.

Once the book makes its way back to its original owner, it’s transformed into a treasure trove of fun facts, giggles, surprises, and sweet moments — a one-of-a-kind snapshot of everyone they love.

Surprise a child with their very own My Friends and I friendship book — and automatically give $5 to a good cause. Get your copy now until March 5th!
